Florida Water
Florida's water systems need our help. We are working to protect our ecosystems and improve the state’s management of water. Residents, businesses, and native species all need clean water to thrive. We engage with state and federal agencies on issues impacting water quality and wildlife habitat, and we pursue legal claims in court as needed. The recurring toxic algae blooms plaguing Florida’s coasts, and sewage spills coming from municipalities are unfortunate reminders of the need for this work.
Florida’s biodiversity is worth protecting.
We are working with scientists and Florida residents to help document habitat areas for aquatic animals. We advocate on behalf of these animals through sharing our team’s photography and videography, supporting site assessments, conducting expert interviews and consultations, and just through every day conversations with people in Florida. Healthy ecosystems and wildlife are crucial to Florida’s culture, economy, public health, and the wellbeing of future generations.
Something stinks in Florida. The goals of our Florida SICK OF SEWAGE campaign are to:
(1) De-politicize sewage pollution by ensuring public transparency and getting federal oversight where it is needed,
(2) Provide certainty that cities & counties will address overdue wastewater system maintenance, and
(3) Reduce the amount of nutrient pollution entering waterways.
